"Love locks" are popular the world over and are usually found attached to the railings of bridges crossing rivers and canals. The couple in a relationship declare their everlasting love for each other by locking padlock to the bridge and throwing the key into the river. In cities like Paris and Budapest, I have seen vendors selling the inexpensive locks to tourists to leave behind as a memory of their visit. In Strasbourg, I was struck by the heavy-duty padlocks attached to this bridge across the canal. I thought it said something about the quality and quantity of love expressed by the couple and it made me think of the classic Led Zeppelin song that is the title of the image...
