On the morning after our arrival in Lima, we took a walk around the neighborhood where our hotel was located. Since vivid color and doors and windows are three of my favorite photographic subjects, this beautiful blue home and ornate white door was an exciting find for me. Out of necessity, I needed to included the tree as it was immediately adjacent to the building. It wasn't util I got home from the trip and reviewed my images that I notice that the tree branches were oriented is such a way that i appears to be getting to tap on the door... hence the title of this work, On that same walk that morning, I found another vividly colored building and door which also appears in this collection (See "Bars and Stripes").
