On the day prior to embarking on our Camino de Santiago adventure, we had the chance to visit the Gugenheim Museum in Bilbao. It was a wonderful experience in both cultural and artistic terms. Outside museum afterwards, we proceeded along a pedestrian plaza that featured interesting architecture and artistic attractions, including a giant puppy sculpted from live shrubbery (see related image "Puppy" in this collection). The building in this image surrounded a small courtyard with a few picnic tables and benches for rest stops along the way. It was the beautiful blue of the architecture that captivated me for this scene... On the following morning, we began our walk on "The Way of St. James" from a point not far from this spot.
