Description
San Gimignano, Italy
October 2011
San Gimignano is an extremely interesting place to visit, Known for its towers which are actually a combination of shops on the ground floor and residences on the floors above, this was a highlight of our tour of Tuscany and the surrounding area. In one of th shops, I found this display of spoons made of olive wood inside a wooden barrel. Looking down into the barrel, this is exactly what the lens of my camera "saw" - the artistically displayed goods for sale in the shop. I call this "the Art of the Marketplace" and, in my experience, it has been a rich source of wonderful still life fine art images.
