Grand Canyon, AZ
August 2021

Our tour of National Parks of the western US began at the Grand canyon. We had accommodations at one of the lodges in the park near the trail head of the Bright Angel trail that leads from the south rim of the canyon down to the famous Phantom Ranch at the bottom. Hiking the trail was not an option for us, but we did venture along it for about a half-mile. Later. we watched the sun set over Bright Angel and I enjoyed capturing the interplay of this trail lamp and an interesting cloud formation in the background.
